I am 200lbs- The cold gel side is a bit too soft for me, but the back side is perfect.
For kids 45lbs and 60lbs- they have no problems with either sides, but need to changes softer pillow for the gel side.
Tips: need to make sure air out for 1 week before sleep on. It has ready strong smells. But with waterproof cover is acceptable.
