It was helpful to read other reviews prior to assembly. And agree you have to be very careful not to even slightly scratch the surface as there is an extremely thin finish-which compromises the quality. Also make sure each piece is labeled correctly, as the door panels were mislabeled.
Since no children will be around the unit I feel it will hold up well enough over time.
