All 6 chairs we bought had the front cross piece (which was preinstalled) attached upside down which meant that the holes for the screws and pins for the seat were about 1/2 an inch above where we needed them to be. When we unscrewed the preinstalled cross piece and rescrewed it in correctly, the seat was able to drop down that extra 1/2 inch and the holes lined up. Im guessing that preassembled a whole batch like this and many people are going to be unable to assemble it. We were very lucky to see that by unscrewing the cross piece and reattaching correctly that we could salvage it. We were very close to sending it back (and customer support was unavailable by phone except 912 and 15 MF). Added a good 3 hours of assembly. This is going to be a nightmare for and consumers for all the chairs that went out preassembled wrong.
