Assembly may have been very simple, but the hex screws that came with didnt work with the tool provided. The hex was too small, and it was between sizes. I had a few of my own tools that got the job done very slowly to keep from stripping the hex. I ended up I stripping one and slowed way down. What was supposed to take 2/3 hours to assemble ended up taking about 9 hours. I have built many pieces of furniture in the past, and this one was by far the hardest.
There are not enough slats to keep a memory foam mattress from sinking in between them. Also, one of the slats was clearly cracked when it arrived. I added a bunkie board, but the sides where the bunkie board would sit are too short to keep it from falling through. I ended up using both the slats and the bunkie board and all looks and feels extremely secure now.
For the price it is decent, but wish assembly would not have taken my entire Saturday!
Color is nice, and the finish was very well done.
