As mentioned in other reviews, this is a firm chair which is suitable for mid-century modern design. This is not designed as a slouchy, comfy, overstuffed chair. It is, however, very comfortable and larger than pictures would have you believe. The throw pillow in the back is needed for average height people, but tall people like my husband and myself find it perfect. We LOVE this chair, it seems very well made, and was delivered wrapped in a huge cloth bag inside of a cardboard box, so was completely protected. It is exactly what I wanted.
