The trundle bed is not at all flimsy and easily slides under the primary frame for storage. The over all assembly is easy and and required a two-man effort in about 2.5 hours. The only care that needs to be taken during assembly is that during that process, be aware of the facing of the crossbeams to accommodate the ladders as the directions are vague.
