Directions were easy to follow although I disliked all the screws with the allen wrench. No problem aligning the screws though. We enjoyed two days by the pool on them this past weekend. Comfortable, adjustable and sturdy. Yes, you can lay flat, too, for suntanning. Weve tried other lounge chairs over the years, including gravity chairs which never seem to lock in place. These are by far the best. Wish I found them sooner.
