Im not going to lie, this was definitely a challenge to assemble. Took my husband and I five hours from beginning to end with the stairs and rails taking the most time. The directions are a little difficult to understand and none of the bags of hardware were marked. I wouldnt recommend trying to put it together by yourself. It seems to be very sturdy and has been put to the test already with my 5 year old granddaughter. We have a standard twin mattress and there is plenty of rail left to secure her from not falling out. Lots of room underneath for storage or play area. Definitely happy with the end result.
