We purchased this bed for our 4yr old and 1yr old to share. The bed turned out as expected and pictured. The wood is pine and came with a few dents and scratches on the ladder and foot boards (nothing major). The color is definitely not a true white, more like a cream or ivory color so it is a little off color to their existing dressers we have. The support boards underneath each bed werent the strongest and although our kids are less than 50 pounds, we still placed a piece of plywood on the support boards before the mattress was laid down to give it some extra support in case they decide to jump or bounce on the bed. The assembly was quite easy, my husband installed in about 2 hours total (TIP: He ended up cutting the Allan wrench tool in half and using it with his drill as a bit to make assembly super quick and easy). If you dont do this and use the wrench by hand, I could see assembly taking a long, long time.
