Really high-quality melamine or laminate creating a very realistic walnut finish, as you can see from the photos. its hard as a rock and feels like a very thick veneer with wood like texture , not that paper-thin crap that barely looks like wood. This is the walnut finish and its so convincing. I bought a side table in the dark walnut and its not that much different in color. For scale, this is a 42 inch TV
