I had this item professionally assembled; Im usually good with assembling furniture, but just wasnt into it this time around. The tech finished in less than an hour where it would have taken me the better part of the day (while also working at home). This is not real wood; its pressboard, which is made from recycled paper scraps, but for the price, its fine. It easily supports a 55 TV and the storage cabinets are nice an deep. I was able to de-clutter and hide a lot away in them. Before I put the TV, cable box and DVD player (which is rarely used now) on it and the items into the cabinets, I was pushing on it to see if I felt comfortable with the stability factor. It was somewhat wobbly, but that will happen when empty and being pushed on. With everything on/in it, its very steady on my carpeted floor. Well worth the money and I recommend.
