I really love this table; its perfect for my home and looks great. Its also very sturdy, whether the top table is extended out or not. I read some reviews saying with the table top extended it wasnt sturdy, but I have no idea what they are talking about. Its solid as a rock either way (maybe they assembled it wrong?).
Re. the assembly, to my surprise the instructions were actually pretty good. One note though: if doing this by yourself like I did, heres what I recommend on the last step, which is attaching to extendable table top by screwing in the the metal brackets etc. The instructions show 2 people doing it, holding the piece horizontally (Id think that a hard way to do it even with 2 people!). Being by myself, I turned the table on its side (vertically, so one end sticking way up into the air). That way, the metal bracket I was screwing in was flat on the part of the table where it screwed in, with the weight of the table top fully on top of it, and I didnt have to hold up or stabilize the table top (which is kind of heavy). I screwed in one side, then I just turned the table on its other side to do the same with the other metal bracket. Did it successfully by myself that way, and the table works perfectly.
Those metal brackets mentioned I screwed in by hand, but other screws in the table I tightened down with a drill to be safe, but I dont think you have to do that. Only downside is the full assembly took me at least 1.5 hours. Its not somedone in 10 minutes thing fyi. But worth it, as I know Ill use and enjoy the table for years.
