    Poorly designed, and perhaps unsafe.

These stools not only came with a manufacturing defect (see image in which a hole is several inches too high on a leg, prompting the use of zipties) but also busted a weld after being sat on only a handful of times. One of the legs, and not the defect one, is now unsafe due to a weld completely failing up at the top where it connects to a small plate, which in turn is bolted to the seat. Not safe to sit in anymore. Not really what I call suitable. Maybe we caught a bad tolerance stack up on the weld position or something, but the misplaced hole in one leg is another issue entirely. Edit: I was sent free stools to replace the defective one. Nice! These new ones aren't broken, however their poor design shows in their assembly. See the pictures. The legs are meant to sit at an angle, a few degrees outward, and bolted to a supporting ring. Instead, they stick straight downward and have to be forced apart to get the support ring in there. This adds a significant pre-tension to the legs and the bolts considering how thin the metal is that makes up the legs. No wonder we busted a weld before! They are under a lot of stress even when at rest! Poor design, or perhaps just poor execution. Hopefully these ones don't break on us too.
