I did it by myself meaning it wasnt awkward or heavy. The mechanism to raise/lower the chair height worked perfectly. My daughter loves it for doing homework. She rarely leans back but the low back on this provides enough support as she is typically leaning over her desk. Looks modern and clean. Comfy with footrest. Good price
