This review is more for the shipping speed than anything else. We hesitated to order this piece for an upcoming birthday because many reviews mentioned shipments being delayed for months. In our case at least, everything arrived in 9 days, we were quite pleased. Cant vouch for past experiences but at least wanted folks to know that on/time shipping is at least a possibility.
As for the product, were really happy with it so far, no surprises with parts/build quality/etc., pretty much exactly as in the product description. One of the legs did have a housing for the railing to fit into that had partially crumbled, looks like they had drilled into a knot in the wood / it happens. Everything still bolted in OK, took 2 adults 6 hours to put it together and it does seem quite sturdy.
My only complaint, and this is my own fault for not paying attention before ordering, is that in order to convert between bed and desk on the lower level, there is no sliding or latching mechanism to raise and lower the desk; it involves taking out 4 pretty tough/to/get/to Allen bolts and re/bolting them in the new position / really more of a 2/person job when you consider you have to balance the large and heavy desk piece while doing it. Oh well, not a big deal / I dont anticipate having to do this more than a handful of times a year. Overall, a really good product / we bought it mainly for reviews about sturdiness and it did not disappoint. Our kids love it. Great,Happy with it
