We were not aware of this, and my husband used a pocket knife without damaging the mattress. So if you do not own a pocket knife or you are not accurate with sharp objects, this could be the mattress for you! Supports well while sleeping without being too stiff. Edges have no support, so while rolling out of bed, it is possible to just fall right off the side. It is as if it almost throws you out of bed, because the edges collapse when you put weight on it. So if you have a hard time waking up in the morning, this might just be the mattress for you! I also get quite hot on this mattress due to it absorbing heat, so if you are cold natured, this is a great mattress for you!
