On the bottom side is a switch that allows you to change how fine or coarse you want to grind the beans. This can also be used to grind herbs, Ive used it to grind fresh rosemary. Its easy to clean as it comes apart into 3 pieces. Its small enough to take with you when traveling but large enough to grind a substantial amount of beans or herbs. Definitely a great deal for the price!
