Ive had this futon for over a year now, and Id say overall Im happy with it. Its pretty, think it fits the room well. I live alone and have no tools so the ease of putting it together was a big deal for me. Plus Im broke and this was a decent price for something that is pretty to look at and can function as a bed if need be.
I gotta say, though: this thing has had a funky smell since day one, and that has yet to fully dissipate. Its kinda chemically. I dont know how to explain it, and Ive wiped it down/sprayed it multiple times. It just kind smells.
Its also real REAL firm still. Im assuming no amount of wearing in will soften it up. Those are both forgivable in my opinion so its fine.
The thing that actually sucks about this futon, though, is the little holes that have appeared in the velvet covering (see photo). Im not a rough/and/tumble furniture user so I have no clue where these holes came from. I think its really just from the velvet fabric generally being low quality. You can see the white of the padding underneath, its not a good look. I hide it with a blanket and pillow and I just hope they dont get any bigger. The price is reasonable though.
