This bed surprised me on the quality as I was putting it together. Its solid wood, and the dowels, and other hardware are very nice. Nice and thick dowels, and long screws. It should last us a while. You do need to air out the bed after setting it up for a while. It does have a paint/chemical smell for a few hours, but it was gone quickly. My wife and I love the fact that this bed can be two separate beds, or work as a bunk bed. Thats one of the main reasons we got it. The twin bed alone does stand higher up than a typical twin mattress frame, but its not anything we cant work around. Easy and strong.
