For the price, this looks great in our guest room. We have 11 inch mattresses, and we will have to slightly pick up the bed to roll out the trundle, but it still fits fine under the bed for storage purposes. It is pretty light to pick up, even for one person, so not a big deal for our infrequent use of the second mattress underneath. If you dont want to do that, stick with a 10 inch or less thickness underneath. I was happy with the quality of the finish and the sturdiness of the mattress support. It will take some time to put together/especially the supports underneath. It took me about 2 hours with breaks to check work emails, etc. Warning: It comes in one VERY heavy box and the UPS guy was nice enough to bring it in for me. Otherwise, it could be two person job to get it up any stairs or through the door and to the destination room. Overall a great value for a decent looking that functions well. It feels great.
