I cant believe I only paid 150 bucks for this bed!
This is a 4.5 star review, rounded up to 5 stars. My 2 year old was ready for a big girl bed, and this was the one I decided on after reading tons of reviews. Im very happy with my decision!
I am amed at how sturdy and nice this bed is. My number one worry with this bed was that the spacing between the slats would be dangerous for a toddler or that my daughter would bonk her head on the in her sleep, but weve had this bed a couple weeks now and shes had zero issues whatsoever. I bought her a bed buddy (search it on ) so she doesnt fall out and it works wonderfully with this setup.
I put 8 mattresses on both beds. (I cant even believe Im writing both beds, after just paying 150!). They both fit great. For the trundle, I think 6 would have been too short and 10 would have been too tall, so go with the 8. The trundle rolls in and out with ease, even over a plush rug.
This bed will support plenty of weight. I lay in it for 30 minutes with my daughter every night for story time. Im pretty sure I could jump on it and it wouldnt budge. One of my major worries was that it would be creaky because shes such a light sleeper, but it doesnt make a sound! (For the record, my 2,000 king/sized bed is ridiculously loud when you move around on it!)
The only thing that upset me about this bed was when I was assembling it, 2 of the screw holes seemed to be just a hair off. It took me 90 minutes to assemble both beds (the + the trundle) and 30 minutes of that was spent just trying to get those 2 screws in. Once I managed that, it was smooth sailing. As you can see from the photo, my 2 year old even helped me, as she totally understood how it went together.
Theres only a few screws required for the assembly. The bulk of the work is just installing all those slats on 2 different beds, which is very simple and repetitive work.
Im a picky consumer, and have no regrets about this purchase! Great for small spaces.
