Mattress was too thick! and difficult to change sheets
This is a great piece. Bought it for the basement family room and it fits perfectly down there. Lifting the bed frame up was the only difficult part of the assembly. I actually started with assembling the ladder before starting with the right and left frame. I had two problems because of my height (5 ft) and ceiling height was 8 ft. So I had to get creative... replaced the 6 mattress and bedding on top with a two inch high density foam mattress and a 4 x 6 high pile rug which my daughter loves sleeping on and is easy for me to remove and machine wash. The five stars is for the excellent overall assembly. Practically managed to do all by myself (although I would not recommend it unless you have no choice). This is sturdy enough for upto 70lb but more than I am not comfortable.
