Very heavy gauge steel supporting the back and no flimsy angle brackets needed. The wood base has also been reinforced by a heavy gauge base then fit cosmetic wood around it. I was surprised by the controls having the material covering them instead of bare plastic. Nice touch. I am a big guy to be transparent. This is rated for 350. I am 380 62. Dont judge . This review is to help guys like us. I have lots of room now. No more tight fit cutting off circulation. Adjusted quite easily to have feet flat on the floor. This is very comfortable and supportive of good posture. The only concern I had is the plastic castors. We will see how that goes. For such a sturdy chair that seems off. Very pleased so far.
