    Wood Frame Metal Frame

My wife and I bought a metal frame bunk bed (twin over full that could be converted into a futon) about a year ago from a different company. The metal material used to make the bottom bunk frame buckled after the first day from lack of proper support and the heat (we live in Florida and it was particularly hot that day). We originally wanted a wooden frame bunk bed at the time (thats what I grew up with myself and loved it), but that was all we could afford, so we did what we could to keep the frame supported and it worked for a year or so. Then we found this bunk bed, perfect pricing for our budget and looked to be extremely sturdy wood construction material. When we received it on our front porch, the box looked like it had been through some trouble during shipping and I was worried about parts being broken or missing (not the fault of the company, but just something that happens in delivery sometimes). But I much to my happiness, when I opened the packaging EVERYTHING was in there and no damage or missing parts at all. The wood looked and felt incredibly solid (not particle board like you see in most furniture these days). Setting out to put it together after a long workweek (this was late Friday night) and my wife and I were tired, but determined. The instructions were very clear but in my tired hastiness I missed a step and we ended up having to take some parts off and put them back in their proper place again; mainly the railing sides due to the openings for attaching the ladder to the frame. This of course was completely MY error. That being said, when we finally got it together, my children (two boys, 6 and 10) loved it (as well as our cat who thinks its as much hers as it is my 6 year olds, lol). Its easily one of the nicest piece of furniture we own now, and couldnt recommend it more to anyone on the fence about purchasing it! You WILL NOT be dissappointed!

    Great beds for kids!

Absolutely love it. I was looking for something simple and black. Hard to find separate beds that look like these so I went with the bunk beds and separated. They a great! Kids love them as well. The screws were a bit tuff to get in, in some areas of the headboard but nothing I couldnt handle on my own.

Great with some tweaks: Needs more slats

Daughter liked the birthday gift The screws supplied for the two little vertical bars that tie together the middle of the safety rails on the top bunk are too short. I had to buy 8 x 1-1/2 inch screws to properly fasten those two parts. See picture. The Allen/hex key that comes with the kit is rubbish and started to strip out some of the screw heads. Fortunately I had a proper 3mm one that saved the day. The wood had one saw mark and some other dings and scratches. I was mostly able to hide these imperfections by making those pieces face the wall. I recommend the plain unstained/natural look because these imperfections are less noticeable. In my opinion, the beds need more cross slats to support the mattress. They didnt break, but the mattress did sag between slats. So I bought more for about $50 from the Wood to the World store on , product title Bed Slats Solid Pine Wood Slats Twin Bed Mattress Support Wooden Slats 39 in Long x 2.75 in Wide x 0.65 in Depth Pack of 13 Count Single Bed Replacement Parts Custom Size Cutting Service (Twin 39 in). They look identical and came with screws. I probably could have used shorter than 39 inch slats, but I got them a little long and cut them myself.

Good but took forever to get delivered

It arrived in good condition so easy to put it together Perfect but took more than a month to get here, we almost cancelled it more than once but waited because we bought it on sale and it was a good price. The bed is super sturdy, looks pretty, good height and quality too.

I just got it today and the wood broke from my son just sitting on it watching TV. Very disappointing,Never buying again, I was planning on getting one for my sister but not now

Broken support - Do not purchase

First, this bed only come with seven very feeble supports. This morning, one of those seven supports snapped. I am very glad that we had these beds on the ground and not set up as a bunk. This could have been very dangerous for my kids. I do not recommend buying.

    Solid wood beds

This bed took three hours to put together. After putting together I feel like its extremely sturdy. All the pieces came together just fine. Using a power drill works best. The reason for three stars is its definitely made for 3-7 year olds. The height from bed 1 to bed 2 is narrow when stacked on top of each other. Im using this bed for my 10 and 11 year old. And they are too tall. None the less the quality makes up for it. They just have to keep their heads low. Instructions were okay, keep in mind when your following them your making both beds at the same time. Its been two weeks. So far so good.

    Ok

First the bad then the good Took 3 weeks to come fairly sure lost it for most of that time since ups only had it in their possession 3 days instructions are really not too helpful at all shotty drill work on the holes the wooden dowells are almost all a little too big or small for the holes drilled the too bed if you have head board and foot board switched you cant put ladder or other rails on and one side goes on VERY crooked also the barrel nuts are kind of crappy so 1 actually broke part of the main board on one of the beds things that should be cut the same length arent really most are but enough are not like others said packaging was fairly beat up nothing sticking out but a fair amount of peices scuffed/scratched and had white spots that did not come all the way off when cleaned took 3.5 hours with 2 people to put together. Now the good When put together (we did bunk style) pretty sturdy nice height while peices were scuffed/scratched still looks nice from distance my kids are ruff anyways so i expect it to not look scuff/scratch free anyways and honestly for the price unless someone else is paying for the bunk bed for you then the deal is kinda hard to beat for brand new i paid $252 +tax it was still less than $270.

Great smooth finish, good fits, have room for improvement

Great quality and design for the value My first impression: the packaging was fantastic, all of the pieces were all well labeled. The edges and surface finish are top notch, wood itself is pretty damn good. I did the installation on my own and I was taking my sweet time, it took me over 2 hours. I assembled a mail order swing set before, by comparison this is pretty easy and straight forward. Power tool, 5/32 hex head, and 2 Philips head are all you need. Some of the pilot holes were not perfectly aligned, so that took some elbow grease and patience to get the boards line up and fasteners to start. My only complaint was, the manufacturer could have make the main frame boards/rails which tie the front/aft headboard to be symmetrical instead of asymmetrical. The instruction had a little mix up and I failed to recognize 1 frame leg and 1 main rail has to be reserve for the ladder side. They could have make the boards symmetrical and be ambidextrous, just provide matching color plugs to plug the extra holes, I wouldnt even be mad. But by the time I got everything tighten up and tried install the ladder on the last step, then realized my mistake; I was pretty annoyed and I have to bust out the drill bit to match drill 2 bottom holes to tie down the ladder. Last complaint is the upper bunk and the lower bed are only aligned by wooden dowels without any restraint, I foresee the boys being rough and rock and tilt the upper/lower halves without some real brackets to tie them together. Overall, it is a decent project/product
